Bringing the community together with information and resources to fight for what we need

Braintree Town Council District 1

Responsive

Government

I am committed to the fundamental belief that Braintree’s best resources are the people who live here, and the best ideas for what Braintree needs most will come from the residents themselves. Good government knows three things:

  • Where it is going

  • How it will get there

  • How it will know if it’s on the right track

To serve Braintree well, I will bring the voices of Braintree’s residents more fully into each component of this conversation, including YOURS.

Leadership

Strong leadership starts with vigorous outreach and is characterized first and foremost by active listening. Through my work with Braintree’s Neighbor Brigade, I’ve seen first-hand how the needs of some of Braintree’s most vulnerable residents are still not met. That’s why I’m committed to fostering relationships with residents of all kinds and to creating opportunities for everyone to share their point of view. Let’s put to rest the notion that some voices count more than others. As a former teacher, I have the right communication skills and pragmatic attitude to represent Braintree effectively. I am ready to stand up on behalf of Braintree’s residents and fight for the kind of Braintree its residents want to live in.

Community

Values

Braintree is a great place to live because the people here demonstrate a sincere commitment to community service. After raising my kids here for the last 13 years, I’ve met so many people who work hard to contribute to this community in all kinds of ways. Whether I have worked with them in the PTO, Braintree Girl Scouts, at church, in the Braintree Neighbor Brigade, with FRRACS in the fight against the compressor station or with Moms Demand Action, I know our residents are committed to improving the quality of life here in Braintree not just for themselves, but for everyone. Our residents are committed to lifting each other up, and that is why our government should look to them first as we navigate our way towards the future.

Office Hours

Communication is Key

There lots of ways to communicate, but now that the mask mandates are all lifted, I am very happy to be able to meet with you in person. To accommodate different schedules, I have set weekly hours for both the daytime and the evening. Please join me! This is a great way to reconnect and get a chance to really dig in to discuss the things that matter to you.

Every month (and often more) I issue an email update on the business of the council. The newsletter offers substantial detail on the issues we face, explaining the different perspectives offered by council members, and offering data in a format that I hope is easy to understand and digest. Readers are always invited to reach out to me with their thoughts and ideas, and my hope is that residents will be able to use the information as a tool to better advocate for the direction they would like to see Braintree follow.
